Luther Burbank Dog Park

Luther Burbank Dog Park is a popular public dog park on Mercer Island in Washington. The dog park is located at the north end of the 77-acre Luther Burbank Park that features beautiful views of Lake Washington, lush greenery and plenty of activities for the whole family. Thanks to its cleanliness and amenities, the dog park is considered to be one of the best dog parks in the Seattle area.

The Luther Burbank Dog Park has a well-thought-out layout, consisting of 1.25 acres of fully fenced land that is divided into two separate dog areas. The first area is very spacious and accommodates dogs of all breeds and sizes. It also enables dogs to access the lakeshore through two access points, allowing them to splash and swim with their four-legged buddies and cool down in the summer days. The second area has a separate entrance and is meant to accommodate smaller dog breeds, as well as shy and recuperating dogs. Since the surface of both off-leash areas is partially sandy and bark covered there is a dog washing station conveniently located in front of the dog park entrance. 

There are drinking water fountains placed throughout the dog park for both the owners and their dogs to enjoy. Restrooms are close by, just a few minutes walk in the direction of the picnic areas and parking. There is also a kiosk next to the dog park, as well as several scenic viewpoints by the North Wetland. Since a lot of the park has been left undeveloped and ungroomed to foster wildlife, dogs must remain on-leash at all times during their stay at the Luther Burbank park unless they are in the off-leash dog park.

The entire park is incredibly well maintained and clean. It is surrounded by great views, water access, and well-paved walking paths. In addition to the off-leash dog areas, there are tennis courts, playgrounds, hiking trails, and a variety of water activities. Though there are two parking lots, the park gets busy on the weekends so make sure to arrive early to secure a spot. There is truly enough variety in this park to keep your dog entertained as well as your entire family.
