Martin Park Off Leash Dog Area

Martin Park is a well-liked dog park in Southern Pines and it is totally understandable why. This park is full of naturally made fun that Fluffy can traverse for hours. Fluffy can run free at this 50+ acre, partially fenced-in off-leash dog park. With that much space, your pup is sure to get his exercise. As long as you stay within the boundaries, bring a frisbee or a ball and play fetch with your pup.

Martin Park offers you and your dog the chance to explore nature trails, enjoy splashing in a flowing creek, sniff around the woods, or you can just sit on a bench and watch your dog run around. Your pup can run around with other dogs and you can socialize with other owners when relaxing in the fenced-in area. Make sure Fluffy stays on his leash until he is fully in the fenced-in area. 

The ground has different textures, which will give your pup a variety of feelings on his paws. There is plenty of grass, dirt, and pine needles. When you are on the trails, be careful of sticks and rocks in the pathways. If you are exploring the open parts of the park, make sure your pup stays within the regulated spaces, which are marked with signs. 

No matter where Fluffy roams, you are responsible for picking up after him with your own bags from home. If you've got a whole pack of four-legged friends, make sure you do not bring more than three at a time. Also, be sure your pup is up-to-date on vaccinations and is licensed. 

Aggressive dogs are not tolerated, so make sure Fluffy is ready to be friendly. If you are not sure, a visit to the park at a quiet time is a helpful way to introduce him to park life. You will find this local gem behind the Walmart on Commerce Ave and you can park in the cul-de-sac located next to the park. The town warns against parking in private lots, such as Yadkin Plaza, as you may be towed.
