MonDaug Bark Park at Mondauk Manor officially opened on the 19th of July 2005. Located at 1130 Camp Hill Road, Fort Washington, it is north of Highland Avenue and Virginia Drive and south of Susquehanna Road. It is right at the base of the parking space in Mondauk Manor Park so if you are driving to the park; you need trouble yourself looking for parking.
The park is a one-acre piece of land separated into two fenced areas, one area for little pups that weigh less than 20 pounds and another for dogs over 20 pounds. The park has three different double-gated entries for security, one for the small dog section and two for the large dog section located at the parking space and by the wooded walking trails where you and Fido can go for a hike, but only if he is on a leash. Thereās also a stream near the parking space where dogs can swim and play in the water.
Although the small and large dog sections are separated, they share the same fence. Owners can take their small dogs to the large dog section. However, the park is not liable for if owners decide so.Ā MonDaug Bark ParkĀ users are expected to tidy up after their dogs. There are numerous bag stations for use, so there is no excuse not to be a responsible park user.
There are benches where park users can relax, take in the views and observe their dogs. Although the park is quite well-kept, there is no water spigot for dogs so remember to bring water if you donāt want to risk dehydration. Currently, there is fundraising supported by the MonDaug Bark ParkĀ Volunteers to help raise money and allocate a fountain not only for canines but also for their beloved humans.Ā
