Monte Sano State Park

Monte Sano State Park sits in the beautiful region of Alabama near the area of Huntsville. In Spanish, this park's name means "mountains of health," and it sits on 2,140 acres of beautiful land. Most visitors come here to experience the fantastic views of this park. During the 1800s, people would come from all over to experience the sights, the spring water, and the fabulous views. 

When you come and visit this park, you will find many different types of amenities that are available for your enjoyment. There are picnic tables, picnic pavilions, playgrounds, hiking trails, biking trails, a golf course, a museum, cabins, campgrounds, a camp store, and availability for recreational activities like hiking, biking, geocaching, metal detecting, and so much more. 

Dogs can also come to this park, but they must remain on a six-foot-long leash during their entire stay, and there will be an overnight fee of $15 - $20 per dog. During your stay at this park, you must follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the Monte Sano State Park. 

Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter the park, and female pooches in heat and young pups under four months old must remain back at home. Dogs must be well-mannered before they come to this park as Monte Sano State Park does not tolerate any aggressive behavior, and humans must clean up and watch over their dogs while they are here. 

Humans should also bring water and dog bags for all of their fun adventures in this park. If you wish to camp, you must schedule a reservation. Reservations can be made on the park's main website or in the park's main office. Monte Sano State Park is an excellent addition to the Alabama community.
