Moore Humane's Pooch Park in the Pines

The Moore Humane’s Pooch Park in the Pines is a membership-only dog park located in Carthage, North Carolina. The annual membership fee is $50 for one dog, $70 for two and $90 for three dogs which is the limit for a given household. The three-and-a-half acre dog park was opened in October 2009 by the Moore Humane Society and Pooch Park Partners in the Pines volunteers. 

This is a beautiful, gated dog park that has a separate area for small dogs which is approximately half-an-acre in size. Unlike most other dog parks in the area, it provides enough space for both small dogs and large ones to run around freely, play and enjoy being leash-free. The dog park is securely fenced with a six-foot fence and has a double-gated entry system in place which helps minimize the chance of dogs slipping out. 

The park's surface consists of grass, mulch, and soil. Countless trees are growing throughout the park, and thus there is plenty of shade - it is essentially a forest park with a great atmosphere! The park is also equipped with a gazebo and benches for owners to relax on while they keep their pooches in sight during playtime. 

The Moore Humane’s Pooch Park in the Pines is equipped with water fountains for human and canine hydration and kiddie pools that dogs are welcome to cool off in during the summer months. The off-leash areas also feature free dog waste dispensers and several conveniently placed trash cans that are covered and get regularly emptied, thus reducing any unpleasant odors. 

There are lots of tennis balls scattered throughout the park which are great for games of fetch but dangerous if your dog is a chewer. Parking is conveniently located by the dog park, and usually, there are several parking spots available, even on the more crowded days since membership is required to enter the park’s grounds.
