Description

Located just 45 minutes away from Arkansas Wine Country and the Arkansas River Valley, Mount Nebo State Park has more than a thousand feet of elevation. Constructed by the Civilian Conservative Corps in the 1930s, the pavilions, bridges, and rustic-style cabins are available for reservation.

More than fourteen miles of mountain biking and hiking trails which can both be shared by pet parents and their furbabies. Twelve of the Mount Nebo State Park’s fifteen cabins are located along the bluff and have scenic views of the river valley below. Some of the campsites at the park also share the same spectacular view.

If you are not big on hiking, there are other activities which you can do on the premises. There are tennis courts, pavilions, picnic areas, a swimming pool, and a visitor center with a gift shop, which is open from eight in the morning until five in the evening. The state park has been a favorite of travelers because of its cooler temperatures.

There are three hiking trails available, which also include the five-mile Bench Trail, also doubling as a mountain biking trail. A few of the park’s primitive campsites are also located along the path. This beautiful Arkansas countryside is a welcome respite from the demands of urban life.

Do you love to take pictures? Well, the park boasts of spectacular sunrises and sunsets, and plenty of people go to the lookout point for these impressive views. The hiking trails are open for dogs of all sizes, but dog owners must remember to bring lots of water, so they and their babies do not end up thirsty.

The locals are extremely friendly, making your visit to the Mount Nebo State Park even more pleasant. Those who would like to stay a few nights will find the cabins not only affordable but also comfortable. There are fresh linens every day, and each cabin comes with a grill and a pit for those who fancy themselves very good at barbecues.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
