Nockamixon State Park is home to boating, a public pool, and several recreational opportunities. It's located deep in the rolling hills of Bucks County, Pennsylvania. Fans of hiking will love the over 20 miles of total trails in Nockamixon State Park, which offer something for everyone.Â
If you'd like something a bit easier to navigate, try the Old Haycock Road Trail, which offers a 1.3-mile stretch that leads guests out to the Haycock Boat Launch. For guests looking to challenge themselves a bit more, there's the Old Mill Trail which is almost six feet in length and provides plenty of boulder jumping and steep inclines.Â
These trails are free for guests to wander, but park officials remind visitors to do their research before setting off, as some of these trails can be quite hazardous for novices. You're welcome to let your dog come along with you on the journey provided you keep them on a leash during their stay.Â
Swimmers can enjoy the half-acre pool inside of Nockamixon State Park, provided they've paid the additional entrance fee. The complex surrounding the pool includes two full-size water slides, a shallow splash zone for children, first aid station, and a full concession stand. Swimming is prohibited outside of the pool area.Â
Dogs are unfortunately forbidden from entering any of the pool grounds. Nockamixon State Park is also home to the 1450-acre Lake Nockamixon, which hosts up to 20 horsepower motorboats in addition to lesser craft. This lake also commonly sees sailboats, windsurfers, and catamarans launching from the Tohickon Marina and launches.Â
If you're looking to drop your motorboat the park prefers you use the Three Mile Run or Haycock launch facilities. The marina also hosts docking facilities for 648 boats and a 120 space dry storage facility for boats on trailers. Make sure to come with all proper registration if you bring a boat along. Make sure you keep your dog on a leash if decide to keep them along on your boat ride.
