Northwest Greenbelt Off Leash Dog Area

The Northwest Greenbelt Off-Leash Dog Area is a great place for your dog to enjoy with others. The ground is a combination of grass and dirt that is partially surrounded by a fence. If your dog loves running around and being playful, this is the perfect place for him. While this is an off-leash area that allows dogs to roam free, however, it isn’t fully fenced in, which could be dangerous if your dog isn’t properly trained to stay nearby. If you are concerned that your dog will run away, its best to keep him on a leash at all times. 

Park rules require pet parents to keep their dogs under control at all times. Dogs are not welcome at the playgrounds, sports games or picnic areas within the park. They are only allowed in the designated off-leash dog park areas located in the park. Pet parents are encouraged to keep their dog on a leash and only remove the leash once you enter the designated off-leash dog area. 

Owners need to bring doggie poop bags with them to Northwest Greenbelt Off-Leash Dog Area to clean up after their dog. In addition, dogs that enter the park need to have a collar with a tag and be current on all mandatory vaccinations. This rule is set in place to keep all dogs that visit the dog area healthy, safe, and happy. You should also bring along water for your dog to keep him hydrated. 

All dogs that visit the park must be accompanied by an owner at least 16 years or older. Pet parents need to be with their dog at all times. Dropping your dog off at the area while you go to the playground or other areas in the park is not allowed. This Northwest Greenbelt Off-Leash Dog Area is a great place for your dog to run around and get exercise as well as play a good game of fetch.
