Oak Cliff Founders Park sits just southwest of downtown Dallas, and is a great place to escape the hustle and bustle of city life, and enjoy some quality time outdoors with your best pal. The park encompasses just over 16 acres of lovely greenery that is well developed and maintained. Oak Cliff Founders Park is mostly known for it’s disc golf course, crepe myrtle trees, and Dallas skyline views. Best of all, this park welcome dogs!
A spacious parking lot for the park can be found along North Zang Boulevard. From here, you can hook onto some woofderful paved pathways that wind through the park. These pathways will probably be the highlight of the park for you and your pupper. They are used by joggers, bikers, commuters, and are ideal for your morning walk with your dog. They pass over slight, rolling hills, and are paved and well shaded, making them comfortable for anyone to enjoy. On your travels, you’ll see tall trees, open grassy areas, and flower beds. The native perennial flower beds are registered Monarch Butterfly Way Stations.
This park also features picnic areas and a pavilion, so why not pack a lunch and stay awhile with your canine companion? You can kick back on the grass under a tree to read a book or eat a sandwich. This is a great facility for family gatherings as well.Â
Whether you want to get some exercise or relax, meet the neighbors or enjoy some solitude, Oak Cliff Park is a scenic space to do it. Dogs are allowed to join you in this park, as long as they follow proper petiquette. This includes staying leashed and picked up after. Don’t forget the waste bags!
