Oak Mountain State Park

Dogs can also come and visit Oak Mountain State Park, but they must remain on a six-foot-long leash during their entire stay. When you come and visit this park, you must follow the rules and regulations that are enforced by the Alabama region. Dogs must be licensed, tagged, and vaccinated before they can enter the park.

Also, female pooches in heat and young pups under four months old must remain back at home. Dogs must be well-mannered before they come to Oak Mountain State Park as this park does not tolerate any aggressive behavior, and humans must clean up and watch over their dogs while they are here. 

Humans should also bring water and dog bags for all of their fun adventures in Oak Mountain State Park. If you wish to camp, you must schedule a reservation.
