Palmetto Islands County Dog Park

Palmetto Islands County Dog Park is a tropical paradise for dogs and their owners in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. This delightful dog-friendly facility is comprised of over 943 acres of lush landscape to explore. Contained on the property are two fully fenced enclosures. One fenced play space is dedicated solely to off-leash dog play for small dogs with the other reserved for larger dogs. There is also a wooden maze on the premises to appeal to Fido's brain as well as the needs of his body. 

There is a two dollar entrance fee but with all the amenities, it is well worth it. Bathrooms are available on-site, and fresh water is provided to help keep Fido well hydrated during his visit to the park. It is important to note that though this park remains open 7 days a week from 8 am to 7 pm, it does remain closed on Wednesdays until 9 am for regular park maintenance and cleaning. 

Though picnic areas are scattered throughout the park, there is little shade. For families looking for a sun-filled adventure, Palmetto Island County Park offers many attractions which are certain to suit the interests of every member of the family. Among the most popular activities are the 50-foot observation tower, hunting, biking, fishing, skating, kayaking, and playing horseshoes. Craving something a little different? Why not take a trip out to Nature Island? Hungry? Snacks and other refreshments are available on-site via local vendors.

It is unknown if poop bags are available on-site. However, park officials mandate that all owners pick up and properly dispose of all canine waste materials in the on-site trash receptacles. Visitors to this park love its relaxing atmosphere reminiscent of an idyllic vacation on a Caribbean Island oasis. Others praise its pristine cleanliness and enchanting landscape.

Though no official rules govern the use of the park space, it is advisable for all dogs to be current on vaccinations including rabies.
