Located within the 500-acre Lake Roland Park in Baltimore, Paw Point at Lake Roland is a fully-fenced and gated swath dog park next to the lake that's just waiting for your dog to explore! Whether your dog loves hob-knobbing with other pups or just needs some room to run out that energy, this puptastic off-leash spot will have them barking!
At about an acre, this grassy park offers a large area for fetching, romping and relaxing on a peninsula that juts into the lake itself. A few trees give some shady spots, and boulders to climb or sit on are interesting features for dogs to explore. Drinking water is available in warm months to ensure everyone stays hydrated, though be sure to bring your own if visiting in the winter. Several benches near the fence and under the trees offer pet parents a place to sit while they watch their pups play, and waste bags on site make it easy to clean-up after pooches.
Best of all, dogs have access to the lake for swimming right from the dog park! Your water pup will love to splash around and cool down on hot days, just be sure to stay within the area marked off just for them. And you may also want to bring a towel to make sure muddy paws don't get all over the car on the drive home.
Paw Point offers seclusion and quiet, as the nearest road is about a ten-minute walk away. Parking is available at the Falls Road light rail station, and a boardwalk from there leads right to the dog area. And if your adventure hound still as some pep in their step after a day romping off-leash, clip that leash back on to stroll the walking paths and trails in the larger Lake Roland Park.
To access Paw Point, you'll need to get a membership first. For $35, you'll get a code for the gate and tags for up to two dogs for a calendar year to enjoy this beautiful pupperdise on the lake. Dogs must be licensed and vaccinated for rabies and follow the rules, which includes wearing their membership tags while in the gated park at all times, and practicing good canine etiquette.
