The Pedora Park Off-Leash Dog Area accepts all canines to come and play to their heart’s delight in the designated areas, as long as they are kept away from playgrounds and are leashed when in parking lots and sports fields. The park does not have any fence so dog owners must have constant supervision of their dogs to avoid accidents and injuries.
If you are going East on Route 22 from Monroeville, you need to turn left on Vincent Hall Road at the traffic lights near McDonald’s, drive one more block at the traffic light and turn right onto Old William Peen Highway and continue for about six miles. Turn right onto Wilson Road and turn left immediately into Pedora Park. Peaceful and easy to locate, it is a favorite of local pet parents.
Aside from the off-leash dog area, the park offers other facilities such as a pavilion with eight tables, baseball field, basketball courts, playgrounds, and grills which park goers can use to whip up delicious barbecues for a fee. The pack also has electricity and lights, so it is not only fun at night, but it is also safe. Remember to bring ample water for you and your dog.
At the Pedora Park Off-Leash Dog Area, you can let Spike roll and roam on the grass; sniff and explore the paths and exercise and play until he runs out of energy. Quite a few people bring their dogs here for a walk during the day, so you have an excellent opportunity to meet other dog owners and have a quick chat.Â
Spike also has the chance to socialize and meet new furry friends. Do not forget to bring some treats with you to make the park experience more pleasant for man’s best friend. Keep in mind that it is a must to pick up after your dogs and throw dog waste in garbage receptacles found all throughout the Pedora Park Off-Leash Dog Area
