Description

Pomona State Park is known for its family atmosphere and great campsites. Since dogs are part of the family, they are welcome at the park also. There are beautiful hiking trails to explore with your dog at this park, but first, you need to adhere to a few rules. You need to show proof of vaccinations, including the rabies vaccine and a license to the park office during registration for your visit to the park.Ā

Do you plan to hike or camp with your dog? Remember to pack the necessities to help make your dog comfortable during your visit to the Pomona State Park. Common canine items needed are food, fresh water, bowls, sweaters for cold weather, doggie hiking boots, first aid kits, a six-foot leash, dog bed, blankets, toys, and anything else that your dog needs.Ā

Donā€™t forget to bring along doggie waste bags since you are responsible for cleaning after your pet. Itā€™s best to bring an abundant supply of waste bags to assure you have enough to last the entire visit.Ā Campsites require visitors to hide their food to prevent attracting wildlife. There are beautiful species of birds and other local wildlife to see, but it also means they will be searching for opportunities to eat your food, including pet food.Ā

Do your best to keep food in plastic containers or specialized camping vessels.Ā The Pomona State Park also offers fun for you and your family to enjoy. Recreational opportunities include fishing, hiking, boating, picnicking, camping, playgrounds, horseshoe pits, volleyball courts, nine-hole disc golf and wildlife viewing.Ā

Plan your visit in advance by making reservations with the Pomona State Park office. Inquiring about designated dog-friendly areas at the time you make reservations, or check-in is recommended. Always make sure you adhere to the park rules and guidelines.Ā Overall, Pomona State ParkĀ is a fantastic park to bring your dog and explore nature.Ā

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
