For leash-free play and socialization in the Dupont Circle neighborhood, bring your pup to the S Street Dog Park! Conveniently located in the heart of the city, this fenced-in site is a pawpular canine hangout, making it a furrific spot for your dog to make new friends!
The first official off-leash dog park in the District, the S Street Dog Park features a synthetic turf surface, lighted plaza, and seating area for pooch parents. There is no separate enclosure for small or timid doggos, so Fido will be mingling with pups of all shapes and sizes at this 5,600-square-foot triangular park. The property is shaped like a small hill, allowing your pooch to get a bit more exercise. On hot days, a kiddie pool is brought out for the dogs to cool off in.
Visitors say that not only are the dogs here well-behaved, but the people are friendly, too. Don't get too distracted by the chitchat with the other pup parents, though! While the park isn't very big and the canines that come here generally have good manners, it's still impawtant to keep an eye on your four-legged pal. Waste bags are provided but they sometimes run out, so remember to bring your own. Don't worry if you left Fido's water bottle at home, as a doggie drinking fountain is available.
Before you head to the S Street Dog Park, make sure your canine BFF is licensed and registered in the District of Columbia and up-to-date with their shots. Always keep your pup leashed when entering and exiting the park, which is bordered by busy streets on all sides due to its central location.
A pawtastic time awaits your furry friend at the S Street Dog Park!
