To meet the needs of small, shy, and senior dogs, one enclosure was designed specifically for their use. All of the play spaces include agility equipment. Though Barkley Park welcomes all dogs to enjoy off-leash time, owners are required to maintain a lead with them at all times.Â
This dog playground is accessible to the public free of charge. Maintained by a dedicated group of community volunteers, donations are always welcomed. All monies collected are earmarked towards park maintenance and improvement. Among the future park plans are seating, play structures, and water access. Currently, bathrooms are not available on the premises for public use.Â
Two addresses are listed for Barkley Park. 329 North Second Avenue is the address for the shelter. The park can be found directly behind this building. East Crawford Recreation Area, which houses the park space, has a physical address of 1801 Markley Road. The shelter address receives primary billing as it is an easy landmark for visitors to identify to assist them in locating the park.Â
There are a few expectations placed upon visitors to Barkley Park. Pit Bulls are strictly prohibited from accessing the dog playground areas. In addition to this, park officials do not permit alcohol, food, or cigarettes on the property. Dogs making use of the play areas should have received a current set of vaccinations and also must be licensed with their respective townships. Looking for a place to take a day trip?
