The Sequim Dog Park at Carrie Blake Park is a friendly spacious place to bring your dog for off-leash exercise and fun. This fenced-in park has a separate area for small dogs. Pet parents need to keep their dogs on a leash until they enter the designated dog area. There is a separate entrance for the small dog's area and the all dogs area. The park has bathrooms and benches for convenience. They also provide doggie clean-up stations that are supplied with plastic waste bags to assure all pet parents clean up after their dogs.
All dogs visiting the park need to have proof of vaccinations as well as licensing tags and a collar. The rule is set in place to prevent the spread of disease to other dogs. Owners are asked to keep their dogs at home if they are sick and to visit the park again when their dog is back to good health.
The park has enough space to play fetch with a ball, stick, or rope toy. However, owners are asked to leave their dog's favorite toys at home. Most dogs are territorial about their favorite toys which often leads to aggression if another dog tries to play along. If your dog experiences aggression towards other dogs or receives aggression, it is best to remove him from the park and come back another day.
The park provides a drinking station for dogs. You can also bring along your own water and a portable dog bowl to assure your dog has plenty to drink. This is an excellent option for pet parents that don’t like their dog to share their water source with other dogs to prevent germs. Overall, this park is beautiful has enough space for your dog to exercise and enjoy a game of fetch. Plus, it gives pet parents the convenience of a bathroom and comfortable benches to sit and relax.
