Shoal Creek Greenbelt Off Leash Dog Area

Austin is a cool city filled with colleges, tourism, southern hospitality, and a whole slew of dog parks for your furry friends. Just north of Pease Park about 10 minutes from downtown, close to the University of Texas, lies Shoal Creek Greenbelt Park and some people have been known to say if you haven’t visited Shoal Creek you haven’t gotten the whole Austin experience yet. 

Shoal Creek is 76 acres of trails that you and your dog can explore as long as your dog is on-leash. There is a designated off-leash area between 24th and 29th street where you can let your pup run and explore. There is nothing greater than a day out with your pup exploring the unseen terrains. 

Shoal Creek is filled with shade trees and brilliant greenery. The whole park is like a world where urban meets country along a beautiful creek. To be honest, it's like a hideaway within the city limits of Austin, Texas. This is the perfect park to take in a leisurely stroll or relaxing picnic with your friends and favorite four-legged friend.

Dogs should be well maintained and sociable when visiting the off-leash areas. Also, they should be vaccinated, and licensed with a proper collar and tags. Dog owners need to maintain control of their pets at all times while visiting Shoal Creek. Keep in mind that your dog should be leashed when not in designated off-leash areas.
