Sierra 2 Green Dog Park is managed by the Sierra Curtis Neighborhood Association, as part of a community providing special hour access to dogs, under an agreement with the city. It’s a relatively unknown area to the general public, but a preferred spot for nearby residents coming to exercise or socialize their pups.
The park features a large playground, which is usually used by a local kid’s soccer league at certain occasions throughout the year. When the field is in use, owners typically take their dogs away from the playfield, but at all other times, pets are allowed to use the property for running around or playing with the other animals nearby.
Sierra 2 Green Dog Park is a fenced area. However, it doesn’t have any gates, so owners need to be mindful of their pet whereabouts at all times. Furthermore, visitors are required to register at the Sierra 2 Center to be able to use the property as a dog park, while pets need to be licensed in Sacramento to register.
The ground is mostly grass, and there are a couple of water bowls placed across the field so that Fido can quench his thirst if he gets too dehydrated during the day. You can find shaded areas inside the park perimeter, along with a couple of lawn chairs.
Large parking spots are provided near the Sierra 2 Community Center. While owners are encouraged to pick up after their dogs to maintain the area in the best condition possible, it is not known if they provide poop bags on-site. Aggressive dogs and females in heat are not allowed at the facility.
If you are searching for a large playing area for Fido, look no further than the Sierra 2 Green Dog Park. You can exercise and socialize your pup while enjoying a relaxing afternoon outside.
