Description
Southington Dog Park is a rather nice dog park in Connecticut. Now in Connecticut, some unique rules and regulations apply to all dog parks in the state, namely some specific rules about licensing. All canines in the state must be registered, and you are required to renew those tags every year.

The registration requires vaccinations and the cost to register depends upon if they are spayed or neutered. Late fees are applied if you do not renew your canines license at $12 per year and you cannot use any dog parks in the state with a license that is out of date. You can renew your canine's license online as well, though you still must provide proof of vaccination.

This dog park remains clean, and the residents of the area take pride in it. The city also maintains the park very well. Doggie bags and garbage cans are placed throughout the park, and there is ample seating. According to many online reviews, this park has many unfriendly locals. To the point where they ask non-residents to leave, and there are several reports of violence.

The Southington Dog Park is not listed as only available to Southington residents, and you have every right to stay. The local authorities will take your side. However, you may prefer another park where people are seemingly more friendly. The park itself is relatively small, though quite lovely. It is grassy and well maintained. The fence does separate the park into sections for large canines and small canines.

The setting is quite beautiful as is the whole town of Southington. The turf is grass and dirt. After a significant rain, the soil will turn to pretty heavy mud and your canine will leave the park quite dirty. There is enough space for your canine to run around a bit, but games like fetch and frisbee are going to be pretty limited. Overall, this park is excellent for Southington residents and non-residents alike.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
