Spencer Spit State Park

Spencer Spit State Park, located on Lopez Island, Washington, is an island camping oasis for dogs and their owners. Lopez Island is but one of many islands which make up the San Juan Islands. There are also some cabin rentals available on the premises. Advanced reservations are required for all camping spaces and cabins. 

Spencer Spit State Park is comprised of over 200 acres of land to explore. Ideally situated on the Strait of Juan de Fuca, this marine-focused park is well-renowned for activities such as crabbing, clamming, and fishing. Several bathrooms are available on site for public use; however, there are no shower facilities. This park also boasts of a number of picnic areas and sun shelters to provide a comfortable space for sharing a family meal or snack.

Spencer Spit State Park is dog-friendly; however, dogs must be leashed at all times on the premises. Though there are no specific rules governing the use of the park space, it is highly recommended that all dogs be current on vaccinations and bear the appropriate required state license tag. It is also important to note that this park observes different hours for its summer and winter seasons. 

Poop bags are not provided on site; however, it is expected that owners will carry their own with them. All visitors to the park are asked to help preserve the park's cleanliness by promptly picking up and properly disposing of their pet's waste materials.
