Stamford Dog Park (at Courtland Park)
With the needs of small, elderly, and timid dogs in mind, one of the enclosures has been reserved for their use. Here, dogs can enjoy a play style better suited to their size, personality, and health situation. Though Stamford Dog Park encourages off-leash play in its runs, owners are still required to keep a leash with them at all times as an important safety precaution.
Stamford Dog Park is a public dog play haven, and the management team are pleased to offer access to their grounds at no cost. Within the runs for the comfort and convenience of all dogs and their owners are fountains for canine and human use, plentiful seating in shaded areas, and poop bags.
The responsibility for cleaning of pet waste falls to each individual owner, and park officials gratefully acknowledge their help in fulfilling the important task of maintaining a clean park environment for all dogs to enjoy. Bathrooms are available on the grounds for public use. Visitors to Stamford Dog Park do make note that its close proximity to I-95 does result in excessive noise.
However, the reviews of this new dog playground are overwhelmingly favorable. There are a few regulations that the park management expects all owners to abide by during their visit to Stamford Dog Park. Dogs must be vaccinated and licensed with the city. They must also wear an appropriate collar with their rabies and city license tags prominently displayed.
Stamford Dog Park strictly prohibits choke, spike, and prong collars on the premises. In addition to this, smoking, bikes, and children's toys are not permitted.
