Star Valley Dog Park is a public dog park located in Tucson, Arizona. The off-leash dog park consists of a long and narrow strip of land that is rounded and divided into two separate sections. The larger area to the left of the entrance is meant for big dog breeds, while the bordering section to the right accommodates small dog breeds. Both areas provide an adequate amount of space for dogs to stretch their legs and enjoy leash-free playtime and socialization.
The Star Valley Dog Park is a local favorite due to its convenient location and features. It is clean, well-maintained and provides a safe environment for dogs to socialize and get their daily dose of exercise. It is securely fenced and has a double-gated entry system in place to help minimize the risk of dogs slipping out as new patrons enter the park.
The small dog area has a picnic table and two benches for dog owners to relax on as they keep their dogs in sight. It is also equipped with a water spigot and a bowl for canine hydration. The large dog area has a similar layout, with a picnic table and four benches - two of which are in a shaded area.
It also features a long water hose you can splash your canine companion with to help keep him cool. Both areas have lid-covered trash cans located by the entrance, as well as plastic bags hanging on the fence to encourage everyone to clean up after their dogs - even if they forgot their own doggie waste bags!
This no-frills dog park is a great place for dog training sessions, playdates, and games of fetch. However, if you want more variety, you are welcome to take your pooch on a leashed walk on the trails winding through the park. Public restrooms can be found between the basketball courts and playground area.
