While dogs are welcome to explore off-lead, it is critical that they have a solid recall as it is easy for them to become lost and difficult to find once in the woods. To ensure the safety of all enjoying the park, it is mandatory for owners to carry a leash with them.
Taylor Farm Dog Park is located on 4.5 acres of property. The park management team, a group of community volunteers, proudly permits entrance to all pooches and their people at no cost. However, a current Norwalk city permit is required. Visitors to this space note that there is a zero-tolerance policy for those who bear no permit or have one that is expired.Â
The south side dog area is home to picnic tables, a garbage can, and a pool. There is also a body of water at the edge of the property. Dogs are welcome to join their owners for a dip to help them cool off on a hot day. The north dog space also contains picnic tables and has plenteous trees to offer shade. Water and poop bags are not available at this beautiful, remote location.Â
Owners should bring bottled water, a dog dish, and poop bags with them from home. The onus is on all owners for proper pet waste removal. Bathrooms are housed nearby for public use. Dogs are strictly prohibited from using Calf Pasture Beach.Â
There are no posted regulations for those who visit Taylor Farm Dog Park. However, it is best to take a common sense approach and ensure that your dog is current on vaccinations and is licensed with the city. Looking for a place for Fido to burn off some steam?
