Theodore Roosevelt Dog Park

Theodore Roosevelt Dog Park is located in the Manhattan area of New York City, New York. Directly adjacent to the American Museum of Natural History, this dedicated dog play space has much to offer dogs and their families. With beautiful landscaping reminiscent of nearby Central Park, this small but cozy dog park is big on charm and boasts of walkways and small paths for owners and their dogs to explore.

Theodore Roosevelt Dog Park is home to two fully fenced play areas where dogs can enjoy off-leash play. The enclosures are lined with dirt flooring. One of the two play spaces is reserved for use by small dogs only. Though the enclosures are designated off-leash zones, it is important to note that New York law requires all dogs to be on a lead of no greater than six feet in length in all other areas of the park. Owners are mandated to carry a leash with them in case of an emergency.

This picturesque park space offers benches in shaded areas where owners can relax while enjoying observing their dogs at play. Unfortunately, there are no bathroom facilities on the premises for public use. Also, there is no public access to water to help address Fido's hydration needs. Owners should carry a bottle of water and a suitable drinking vessel with them. Entrance to this public space is free of charge. 

It is unknown if poop bags are provided on-site. However, New York state by-laws mandate that all owners must carry bags with them to pick up and properly dispose of any canine waste promptly. Also under New York legislation, it is required that all dogs be current on vaccinations and city licensing. Owners are required to carry proof of immunizations and licensing with them at all times.
