For many four-legged San Antonians, the Tom Slick Dog Park is among their favorite places in the city—and it's not hard to see why! Conveniently located off of Highway 151, this designated area for canine citizens is loaded with features that will keep your pupper's tail wagging!
The 1-acre dog park by the 151 entrance comprises separate areas for large and small doggos, while another enclosure near the Timber Creek entrance offers additional space for the city's four-legged residents to play off-leash. If your pooch is looking to expand their social circle, they'll find many furry friends to play with at this pawsome spot. You can also test their athletic abilities with the several pieces of agility equipment scattered around the park. Benches and picnic tables are provided for the dog parents, but make sure your furry charge is always within your line of sight. Don't furget to stoop and scoop if your pup makes a mess! Trash receptacles are within easy reach, but bring your own waste bags as these are not supplied.Â
If your pup gets thirsty from chasing after their doggie pals, direct them to the drinking fountains stat. A dog shower is also available for pooches who need some rinsing off before heading home. Or, let them go for a swim in the pond outside the fenced dog area. Afterward, take them for a walk around the water to really tire them out! Strolling around the pond and exploring the main park is also a great way for shy dogs to get their exercise without having to rub elbows with other canines.
Make sure your BFF is licensed and up to date with their vaccinations before you bring them to the dog park. For furrific, off-leash fun in San Antonio, you can't go wrong with the Tom Slick Dog Park!
