Lent’s Family Dog Park is a beautiful, medium-sized dog park located in Houston, Texas. The dog park is amenity-laden and surrounded by lush greenery which is why it is one of the most popular parks in the area.
The well-thought-out layout of the dog park consists of natural landscaping, two large separate dog areas, a small retention pond, and even a concrete, bone-shaped doggy pool with a waterfall for canines to splash in. Needless to say, make sure to bring a towel as no dog will resist taking a soak to cool off in one of the water features. Though things can get muddy, don’t worry as this dog park is also equipped with dog cleaning stations.
As if that wasn’t enough, there is plenty of seating and shade in both the small dog and the large dog areas thanks to the tall maple, pine, and oak trees that grow throughout the park. Unlike in most parks, the small dog area is similar in size to the large dog area, providing lots of running space for both breed types. There is also a time-out section for dogs that misbehave.
Water fountains for both dogs and owners, dog waste bag dispensers, and trash cans are conveniently located throughout the dog park and are easy to spot. The park’s surface consists of grass turf and there are granite walking trails within the park. There are lots of benches, a covered seating area, restrooms, and a kiosk. Playgrounds and soccer fields are also located nearby, making this park a great place to spend the day with the whole family.
The park is rarely crowded as it can be tricky to find but the hidden gem is definitely worth the search. Make sure to visit this wonderful dog park and relax in the beautiful scenery as your canine companion explores the area and makes new friends.
