For off-leash fun on Topsail Island, you can't go wrong with bringing your best friend to the Surf City Bark Park! Somewhat hidden yet centrally located, this furrific dog park can be found right behind the Surf City Community Center. It's where many of the town's canine residents hang out, and it'll surely become your pup's favorite spot, too!
The Surf City Bark Park offers two fully fenced sections for doggos of different sizes; the right enclosure is reserved for small puppers, while the one on the left is allocated for larger canines. Both sections have a soft woodchip surface, lots of shade-giving trees, and some benches for the humans. But pawhaps the best features are the pawsome obstacles and agility equipment that are available for your pup to play with—there are tunnels, stairs, ramps, hoops, and even a slide! Fido won't get bored here, that's for sure! Of course, there's also plenty of room for everyone to romp and run around unfettered.
Be sure to keep your pooch on a leash when entering and exiting the dog park, and only remove it once you're inside the fenced area with the gate securely closed behind you. Always keep an eye on your furry charge while they're playing and socializing, and clean up any mess they might make right away—no one wants to accidentally step on doggie doo! For your convenience, mutt mitts are available at the entrance in case you left yours at home. Drinking water doesn't seem to be provided, however, so don't forget to bring your own—your pup will certainly need it after a bout of climbing up and down the play equipment and chasing after the other dogs!
Whether it's for exercise, socialization, or stimulation, a visit to the Surf City Bark Park will always get four paws up from your doggo!
