The Turk Park III Dog Park is a membership only dog park in Doylestown, Pennsylvania. Before any pet owner and pooch are granted admission, they not only have to apply for membership but also attend a mandatory class on dog park behavior to make sure they are suitable to be let loose.
After pup and handler have passed the orientation class with flying colors, there is only the paperwork left to complete before off-leash exercise time begins. Owners must supply the class certificate plus proof of license and vaccinations with their completed application to Turk Park III Dog Park.
The fee for residents of Doylestown Township and Doylestown Borough is $50 for the first dog and an additional $15 for a second dog. For non-residents, the fee is $60 and $20 for the second dog. Pet owners are provided with one access key fob when their registration is complete. One extra one can be issued at the same time for $15. Lose them, and it costs $25 for a replacement.
The Turk Park III Dog Park in Doylestown has three independent enclosures which have a total ground space of three acres. Miniature breeds weighing under thirty pounds get half an acre to chase their tails in while big dogs get one and a half acres. The extra acre is kept for rotation to give the grass covering a break and also for training purposes.
There are quite a few things which are not permissible in the Turk Park III Dog Park. They include children under fourteen, any type of food including pup treats, and smoking to name but a few. Non-members are not allowed nor are pups younger than six months.Â
A pet owner standing stationary in the off-leash areas is frowned upon as they are expected to move about and encourage their dog to interact with other canines in the compound. The one thing which is permitted is for the dogs to enjoy some great off-leash exercise time. Come by the Turk Park III Dog Park and check it out.
