Twin Lakes Recreational Area Dog Park

The Twin Lakes Recreational Area Dog Park is in the Twin Lakes Recreational Area in the city of Columbia, Missouri. This dog park is divided into three distinct sections all of which are accessed via one general staging area which is a short walk from the parking lot. Dogs must be kept leashed until fully inside the gated area when walking from the parking lot.

The first part of the dog park is called the Lakeside Dog Park and may be used by dogs of all sizes. It is a vast, four-acre spread enclosed on three sides with secure, wooden trunk and wire mesh fencing. The fourth side has open access to a lake in which dogs are permitted to play and swim. This off-leash area is seasonal and closes during the wintertime from the beginning of December to the end of February.

The second section of the Twin Lakes Recreational Area Dog Park is called Paws Pond Dog Park. This three-acre expanse is specifically for small dogs who measure no more than eighteen inches in height. This off-leash area is a grassy field bordered by trees and has a shallow swimming pond at its center. This dog park is also closed from December through to the end of February.

The third dog park at the Twin Lakes Recreational Area is the Off-Season Dog Park. This off-leash area is a massive three and a half acre, fully fenced, grass field which is available for pet owners to use when the other two dog parks are unavailable. The Off-Season Dog Park is for dogs of all sizes.

The park authorities request all users of the dog parks to abide by the rules and regulations of the off-leash areas. It is not permitted to exercise more than four dogs at any one time. All poop must be scooped and disposed of responsibly.
