The Virginia Lake Dog Park has recently undergone renovations to improve the quality of the area for both you and your pups! The park’s central feature is the beautiful lake, which has a walking path that is approximately a mile around. There is also a small island which hosts geese and fountains that highlight the lake’s beauty. The lake is popular with both geese and ducks, which you should keep in mind when you bring your pups to visit.
There are new LED lights which illuminate the park, and there are areas to provide your dog with fresh water during the summer, though the watering stations are shut off from late fall to mid-spring to keep the pipes from freezing. The upgrade to the park also includes a fun agility course for your furry friend. And new sidewalks make the park ADA-compliant so that everyone has the chance to enjoy the space with their pets!
In addition to the beautiful scenery along the lake, you can also enjoy a gorgeous view of the mountains. While there is not a lot of grass, the park does feature large areas to explore with your dog. The peak hours for the park are between 7:00 AM and 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM and 7:00 PM, so if you have a shy dog or one that does not work as well with other animals, you may want to take this into account.
There are additional areas for your family, including an adjacent park, and picnic tables and benches provide plenty of seating in both the small and large dog areas. A restroom is also available for park visitors, and there is plenty of parking to allow for easy park accessibility. This is a great park to bring your whole family to and enjoy a day along the lake!
