Wallace Dog Park

Wallace Dog Park, one of Portland, Oregon's many parks with designated off-leash areas, is a beloved playground housed on 5.39 acres of property. Named for a local councilman named Hugh Wallace, this dedicated dog facility shares its space with the family-friendly park bearing the same name. Wallace Dog Park is home to a fully fenced dog run. 

Though many dog parks do offer a section for use by small, senior, or shy dogs, it is unknown if one is available at this particular park. Off-leash play is encouraged at Wallace Dog Park; however, ready access to a leash is still required. The dog play area is accessed through a double-gated system to ensure the safety of all dogs entering and exiting the playground. 

Entrance to Wallace Dog Park, a public dog play haven, is provided free of charge. This dog playground is complete with many amenities for the convenience of owners and their dogs. Water is available near to the dog run to ensure Fido and his friends are easily able to quench their thirst after a rousing time of play. Unfortunately, complimentary poop bags are not provided on the grounds. 

To be best prepared, owners should bring some from home to assist them with waste removal. Visitors to this neighborhood park remark that the run is small but adequate and that other owners are very attentive to their dogs during their playtime. Additionally, the park can become very muddy after rainfall. For this reason, it is wise to bring a towel to clean Fido up before allowing him back in your vehicle. 

Bathrooms are provided for public use. Wallace Park also has many recreational opportunities to offer. Among the outdoor activities at Wallace Park are basketball, soccer, and baseball. There are also many bleachers, benches, and picnic tables where families can relax and enjoy a light lunch together. The property is also home to numerous walking paths. 

Fido is warmly welcomed in all areas of Wallace Park, but park officials do require that he remain on a leash in these areas. There are no officially posted rules regarding the use of this lovely dog playground. However, to do your part against the spread of disease, up to date vaccinations are an excellent idea.
