If you're just looking to chill around some canines, the dog park is a good sized space that has a combination of grass and dirt. The open space has few trees inside, but some do line the edges of the park, which can provide some shade. There are water fountains, but be careful because the ground gets a little muddy at times.Â
The park is fenced-in with a chain link fence and has double-gated entries for safety. Dogs under 25 pounds can enter the small dog section. No matter what size your dog is, be sure to clean up after him. The park has bag dispensers in case you forget yours. Also for the owners' convenience, there are picnic tables and benches, several garbage pails, and restrooms are a short walk from the dog park.Â
To enter the park, you must pay $2 per person (children under two years old are free), unless you are a Gold Pass Member. The park's hours changes based on the seasons, so be mindful of the hours you go, as the gate closes 30 minutes before the park closes. From January through April the park is open from 8 a.m. to sunset; from May through August it is open from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.; from September through December it is open from 8 a.m. to Sunset. On Monday mornings until 10 a.m., the dog park is closed for regularly scheduled maintenance.
