Westgrove Dog Park is a favorite dog park in Fairfax County, and for good reason. The expansive park is one of the few dog parks that has a surface of plush green grass for your pups to dig their toes into. The surface is easy on the paws, but you may want to bring a towel for your car if you come by after a heavy rainfall! Locals love having this safe place to bring their doggos for some off-leash playtime, exercise, and socialization.
There are two separate fenced off areas in this dog park, so that dogs both large and small can have a space to play and feel safe. Within the park, you'll find a water supply and dog bowls, so your pup can stay hydrated. On those hot summer days, your pup can beat the heat in the shaded areas or by taking a splash in one of the kiddie pools.
With all of the space to roam and things to do, don't be offended if your pooch doesn't look back after you unhook their leash. There are almost always dogs in the park, so your pal will have the chance to make some furry friends. You'll also find toys, and an agility jump and ramp for pups to get a taste of agility training. The park has everything you could pawsibly need for a good time with your pal.
Pet parents are asked to follow a few basic rules when bringing their fur babies here. Namely, dogs need to stay leashed until they've entered the off-leash area, and they need to be picked up after. Waste bags are provided. Please be sure your canine is always respectful to others, under control, and removed from the off-leash area if they show any signs of aggression.
Overall, the many furtastic features in Westgrove Dog Park are sure to put a wag in your dog's tail!
