Willard Beach Off Leash Dog Area

In South Portland, there is a wonderful beach where dogs are welcomed to play off-leash. Willard Beach Off Leash Dog Area is in a quieter rural area of Portland, Maine. It seems tucked away from all the hustle and bustle of big city life. Vacationers and Residents both thoroughly enjoy having this quaint sun, sand and water experience with their pups. 

Not only that, near the beach, there is a natural, homemade pet food store for you to stop before heading home or back to your hotel. There is also a playground nearby for children; however, dogs are not allowed in the play area. This fur-friendly beach is roughly about 4-acres with plenty of room to run and play. 

Frisbee is a favorite pastime among many pups here. Dogs are allowed off-leash, as long as they are under voice commands and dog owners have them under control at all times. Aggressive behavior is not allowed, should your dog become aggressive you may be asked to leave the area. 

Make sure you clean up after yourself and your pet. You should bring your own doggie waste bags just in case when visiting this beach. This will help ensure that the beach is kept beautiful for all who visit here. There are plenty of paths and sidewalks to explore here as well!  

Dogs should be leashed when not in off-leash areas. The beach also asks that you be respectful to other beachgoers and to keep noises and barking to a minimum. All in all, Willard Beach is a fun, sandy and pet-friendly place to spend the day.
