Windsor Dog Park at Northwest Park provides plenty of room for your dog to run and play. There are two separate dog areas, one for smaller or timid dogs and the other for larger dogs. However, if smaller dogs enjoy running around with the larger dogs, they are welcome in the area but not vice versa. The dog park is fenced-in with a chain link fence that measures four feet tall.
There is no fee required at this dog park, but donations are welcome and go towards improvements and maintenance. Vaccination and license tags are required for all dogs that visit this park. Owners must keep their dog on a leash until they enter the double gated area of the dog park. Once the gate is securely closed, you can remove your dog’s leash.
You must re-attach the leash to your dog’s collar before exiting the dog park gate. All pet parents are responsible for their dog while at the Windsor Dog Park. Dogs that show aggression towards other dogs or humans need to be removed from the designated dog area for safety reasons.
Pet parents need to contact the Town of Windsor Animal Control to report all dog to human bites. Your puppy might want to play with other dogs but make sure they are over six months old before bringing them to the Windsor Dog Park at Northwest Park. This is a mandatory park rule that needs to be adhered to at all times.
Pet parents are required to clean up after their dog and dispose of the waste in the available trash containers located in the dog park. Always bring along doggie poop bags to assure you clean up after your dog. Overall, this dog park is excellent. It has plenty of room for your dog to run around, play with other dogs and socialize. You can also play a great game of fetch.
