Corona Heights Park Trails
Corona Heights Park encompasses an area in the Castro and Corona Heights neighborhoods of San Francisco. This park is a wonderful place to visit, especially if you are searching for a place to escape the frenetic metropolis of the Bay Area. The park has a loop trail that provides a peaceful setting for a meditative walk through nature. The red, rocky summit of the park is one of the most picturesque locations in San Francisco, and there is also a diverse array of wildflowers and wildlife that contribute to the park’s natural beauty. Canine companions are welcome on the trails as well, making it a furrific spot for a walk!
You have a number of parking options available when you visit Corona Heights Park. The Randall Museum, the 15th Street tennis courts, and the area around the park all have free parking. When you get to the park itself, you will find the park’s trail, which runs about a mile through the grassy slopes and red terracotta peak of the hill. While the trail is uphill, the grade is not too steep, so it is considered an easy trail to hike. Once you get to the top of the hill, you and your pooch will have a breathtaking view of the city below. Also, be sure to stop by the Corona Heights Dog Play Area — it is an off-leash dog park located right next to the Randall Museum!
When you are visiting the trail, be sure to follow good trail etiquette and adhere to its rules. Dogs must remain leashed at all times outside of the dog park. Restrooms are available on this trail, but you will have to bring bags to clean up after your furry friend.
