Description

The beautiful Eberly Park Fitness Trail first opened all the way back in 1978, and since then, it has grown into a popular place for jogging, bike riding, and dog walking. This lovely unpaved trail is mostly flat and 1.5 miles long, and it welcomes dogs on-leash.

The trail begins next to Eberly Park’s parking lot. As you go along the trail, you’ll walk through a shady forest filled with bushes, oak trees, and other native Illinois trees. On some portions of the trail, you’ll also walk by a peaceful suburban neighborhood.

Eberly Park Fitness Trail is quiet and far away from any busy roads, and it takes you in a wide loop around Eberly Park. When you finish the trail, you’ll end up back where you started in the parking lot. This pawesome trail is the perfect place to spend time hiking with your dog!

Before you head to the Eberly Park Fitness Trail, there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind. There are no restroom facilities in Eberly Park. There’s also no potable water, so you’ll want to bring a bottle or two with you. It’s also a good idea to bring your dog’s bowl so you can keep them healthy, hydrated, and happy during your walk. There are no doggy bags available in the park, so it’s a good idea to bring those with you, too. A non-profit organization manages the park, so be respectful and always clean up after your pooch to keep the park free and dog-friendly!

Eberly Park Fitness Trail is an easy, fun trail to trek with your dog. The trail is secluded and shady, making it the perfect place to walk on hot spring and summer days. It’s also a great place to see the leaves changing in the fall. You and your dog will both have a furrific time hiking on this pawesome trail!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
