Gateway Park Trail

What a great day you will have when you take your furry friend for a walk along the Gateway Park Trail in the city of Dallas, Texas. This pup-friendly hike will offer you both fun and adventure together! Located within Gateway Park, you will find ample parking in the lot where you will also find the trailhead.  

The trail is approximately 1.1 miles long and is a loop through Gateway Park. There is only a 49-foot elevation change throughout your hike, so it is not too challenging for most pup-hikers! Your furry friend will love being outdoors with you and traversing through this 100-acre park in the city. You will probably forget you are in the middle of the metropolis when you hike through wildflower fields and see the many mature trees planted here! Take a break in the shade and cool yourselves!

After your puptastic hike, you should check out the features that the park itself offers including grills and picnic pavilions where you can choose to share lunch. There is a children’s playground and sports fields for soccer and softball enthusiasts. Tennis courts dot the landscape where you might get to see a match in action. Your pup is welcome to hike the trails and be in the park as long as they remain on leash. Bringing clean up mitts are an important part of keeping this trail pawtastic and are much appreciated by those non-dog owners! Also, be sure to bring water for you and your pup to share, especially on hot and humid days.
