You may not expect to find many trails that can allow you to enjoy the outdoors in the large and bustling city of Dallas. Glendale Park Trail may not offer any mountain hikes or rough walks, but it does provide a serene place where pups and humans can enjoy a nice trail surrounded by park amenities and green space. The trail is made from concrete and is about 5 feet wide throughout its entire length.
The trail resides in Glendale Park, which offers green meadows and scattered trees all around the area. There are two parking areas, on the east and west corners of the park. Once parked safely in one of the spaces, both places connect to the Glendale Park Loop Trail. Starting on the western parking lot, you'll cross over a small bridge over a creek that connects to the northern loop, which encompasses a wide area filled with trees, a playground, restrooms, open space, and shaded sitting areas. The first loop takes up 1.1 miles of space. It then forks off to a bridge that travels over Fivemile Creek, a rough little place with cascading water that travels over rigid rocks to make smaller waterfalls.
Once over the bridge, you'll be in the southern half of the park and on the southern loop which is about .9-miles long. The loops also encloses a large green meadow, with additional amenities connecting to the trail like a gazebo, picnic tables, water fountains, fenced-in tennis courts, and basketball courts. There is a third parking lot here as well, and after completing the second loop, it will bring you back up to the northern one and back to your car. Be sure to bring clean up bags and pick up anything your pup leaves behind.
Sunny, open, and with lush green lawns, the Glendale Park Loop Trail is perfect for taking Fido out on a cool day to enjoy the park amenities and time outside.
