At Lake Guntersville State Park, you and Fido can take a short walk or go for a day-long hike together. This pawtastic area has over 36 miles of trails for you and your pooch to explore. There are multiple connecting paths that form loops through the 6,000-acre facility. Out here, you can see a waterfall, a cave, and a beautiful lake as you hike through the woods and by the water. Come in winter for peak eagle viewing or during migration times to catch sight of grosbeaks, warblers, and tanagers.
Most of the trails here have terrain that offers a moderate to difficult hike. The different segments range from a half-mile to 3.5 miles in length. The routes have color-coded blazes to help keep you on track. The Red Trails include the Cave, Nature, Butler Pass, and Cascade Trails. When you follow this loop, you'll pass by a cave, around some rock formations, through an old cemetery, and across a mountain. On the southeast end of the park, you can take the Tom Bevill Trail around Ellenburg Mountain and see some old homesteads on the way. Follow Seale's Trail to the northeast to walk along the shoreline of Town Creek. For an easy hike, check out the 3.5-mile Golf Course Loop that winds around the perimeter of the links.
This pupcredible Alabama park permits your four-footed pal to join you if they're on a leash. Just make sure you carry bags to remove Fido's waste when you come here. You'll also want to have water for you and your furry pal.
The trail system at Lake Guntersville State Park offers you and your pooch a variety of hiking options. You can plan a short walk to a seasonal waterfall and cliffs or a longer trek. As you wander through this natural space, you're likely to see plenty of wildlife.
