Description
If you're looking for an easy walk with plenty to see along the way, Memory Lane is the right trail for you, and is located in the Old Greenville National Historic Site. Dogs are welcome to explore the trail as long as you keep them on leash. Memory Lane is only a mile long, and with plenty of historical information along the way, it's one of the busier areas of the park. You and your dog could walk the trail in about twenty minutes, but you're going to want to slow down to take it all in. Memory Lane is a self-guided tour, so you can set your own pace for educational and exploration purposes.

This flat path is mostly paved! The sidewalks and foundations are part of Old Greenville (which was just called "Greenville" at the time!), a town that existed for 150 years! There are five plaques along the path in Memory Lane. They're all about equal distance apart, giving you a dose of history every fifth of a mile. You can start with a history of Greenville's first inhabitants, Native Americans, through the founding of New Greenville. You're free to stray off the path to explore the foundations of old buildings as long as you take care not to damage anything, and don't let Fifi walk on history!

Memory Lane is a flat path with primarily solid, even terrain. The sidewalks aren't what they used to be, but they're all sturdy enough to make this path suitable for all skill levels. Comfortable, supportive shoes are always a good investment when walking. You'll also want to bring doggie waste bags with you, to ensure you leave the trail as beautiful as you found it.

Memory Lane is a great walk to take with your dog, whether you want a quick warmup or to soak in the rich history of Wappapello Lake and Greenville (New and Old)!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
