Mullet Hall Equestrian Trail System

Hiking couldn’t be sweeter than at the Mullet Hall Equestrian Center at Johns Island County Park. Located in Johns Island, South Carolina, there are pup-friendly trails calling out your name!

The trails are a part of the John’s Island County Park which covers a whopping 738 acres. Mullet Hall is designed as an equestrian center for horse shows and events, but the park also offers hiking trails for foot traffic which are pup-friendly and pawtastic! Pick up the trailhead at the Trail Entry location just south of the main entrance. The trails are then continuous for 20 miles of ‘off-road’ fun!

Once there, you will find four interconnecting loops, all color coded for clarity. The Red Loop is 5 miles long, the Blue and Black are each 3.5 miles in length or take the Green Loop for a shorter 3.5-mile hike. No matter which trail you take, they each offer beautiful scenery through pine and oak forests, trees draped in southern moss and lots of open farm field meadows. Short cuts and alternate routes are located throughout – just check the map at the trailhead.

Mostly level terrain will thrill your feet and pup’s paws with its dirt footing and easy-rated trek. You can’t go wrong with any path you take. Be sure to keep your fur-ever friend on leash and allow horses to pass. There is a $1 per person entry fee, but pup-tastic dogs are free! Restrooms and drinking fountains are located at the trailhead so fill your water bottles there. Pack some snacks as well for your hike with your pup!
