The Lewiston Road and Macklem Avenue intersection is part of Niagara Falls, New York, just south of Lewiston. This quaint neighborhood is ideal for walking with a dog. The streets are lined with older trees and homes and are easily navigable. Sidewalks are available for access on both of these roads as well as the side streets that run off of them, including Findlay Drive and Chestnut Avenue. The most significant advantage that the neighborhood has is its proximity to the De Veaux Woods State Park and the Whirlpool State Park. Both are excellent locations to walk a dog.
Because it lies on the Niagara River, this area is prone to cold weather in the wintertime including high winds and heavy snowfall. Icy conditions can make walking difficult, so caution should be taken in this type of weather. Spring can be cold and rainy, while summer and fall generally provide the most comfortable opportunities to walk outside.
