If your pooch has pent up energy, you better take a trip to the Lewiston Dog Park. Located in Lewiston Village, this 1.3 acre park is an ideal spot for pups to let loose and run free. There are separate sections for large and small dogs, so petite pooches can romp around at their own speed. Both areas include exercise equipment where your furry friend can put his athletic skills to the test. For a leashed walk, head over to Earl W. Brydges Artpark. Not only is this park home to performing and visual art programs, it also has trails that provide scenic views of the Niagara River. .

Robert Moss Parkway
If you want to treat your favorite four legged friend to an afternoon in the park, Lewiston has you covered. Kiwanis Park has plenty of green space and is surrounded by mature shade trees. Lewiston Town Park has ball fields and a paved walking path. Joseph Davis State Park is a favorite fishing spot, as well as a pawsome place to walk your canine companion. Here, you can meander through the woodlands and around the pond. All three parks are about six miles apart and are connected by a bike/pedestrian path. So leash up your pup and do some park hopping!

East Lewiston
Looking for a new place to walk your pooch? Head over to East Lewiston and take a stroll through Bond Lake Park. Spanning over 500 acres and featuring five separate ponds, this park definitely delivers in the beauty department. Your furry BFF will love exercising while soaking in the sunshine and breathing in fresh air. Discover new routes in the 13 miles of trails that spread through the park. Your buddy can hunt for the perfect stick or look for squirrels. There are also picnic shelters scattered throughout the park, so bring a lunch and stay for awhile. Witmer- Military
Next time your pup begs for some outdoor time, head four miles south of Lewiston to Reservoir State Park. Nestled in the Whitmer Road and Military Road area of Niagara Falls, this state park is a community hot spot. Locals come out in droves to use the sport courts and ball fields. Your four legged friend will have ample opportunity to socialize with new friends. Take some laps around the walking path for a little doggy cardio then head across the street and hike up to the reservoir. This park is open all year round, so be sure to stop by when the snow starts to fall.

DeVeaux
Just eight miles south of Lewiston is Whirlpool State Park. Located in the Lewiston Road and Macklem Avenue neighborhood in Niagara Falls, this park sits right on the banks of the Niagara River. The upper level of the park provides breathtaking views of the Whirlpool and raging rapids. Stop here for a quick photo before taking your leashed pup down to the river level hiking trails. The Whirlpool Rapids Trail is 1.3 miles one way and has some difficult sections, so make sure your pal is up for a challenge. The Niagara Gorge Rim Trail follows the river for just over six miles. Your pooch is sure to have a tail waggin’ time!
