The neighborhood of Charlotte can be found beside the western bank of the Genesee River along Lake Ontario; it is part of the Greater Rochester area in New York. The city was founded in 1788 by early settlers who purchased a small parcel of land from the Seneca tribe. As time progressed and more and more families settled there, the borders expanded. Charlotte was once a port for international trade back in the 1800s until the arrival of the Erie Canal, which greatly impacted its trade business. Many ferries still provide transportation to New York City and surrounding areas.
Charlotte is home to some picturesque parks such as Ontario Beach Park and the historic Charlotte cemetery. This neighborhood is the perfect place to explore and walk with your leashed furry friends.
