Genesee Valley Park
If your furry friend is ready for fresh air and exercise, take a trip to Genesee Valley Park. This 800 acre park is a massive expanse of fun. With amenities like athletic fields, playgrounds, and biking trails, it’s no wonder people flock to this park to enjoy the great outdoors. Take your pooch for a walk on one of the many trails, or just mosey through the grassy area. If you have a New York fishing license, let your pup hang out on the bank of the Genessee River as you cast a line. To venture outside of the park, follow the Genessee Greenway. This trail goes all the way into downtown Rochester, so go as long as your pup’s paws will allow.

There are plenty of trails to follow within the 275 wooded acres. Turning Point Park Trail clocks in at 5.4 miles and is one of the more popular trails. Let your four legged friend get some exercise as you head on out this trail and enjoy the riverfront scenery. This park is also full of wildlife and birds. This park is a favorite for the local softball leagues, so during the summer months your pooch will get plenty of socialization. Be sure to saunter over to Lake Riley. Highland Park also has a trail that wanders through a collection of memorials as well as reservoir and a little pond. Most notably, the park is home to the Warner Castle and Sunken Garden. Needless to say, your dog is sure to have a tail waggin’ time!
