It also has a picturesque gazebo that overlooks Honeoye Creek. Bring water and doggy bags with you, and enjoy exploring this community park. If you want to get a bite to eat after the park, head to Rush Creekside Inn. This casual tavern allows dogs at their two outdoor tables. To eat, they offer classic bar fare, including wings, burgers, steak sandwiches, quesadillas, and more. Bone Appetit!

If you’re searching for a fun off-leash area for your furry best friend, head to Geneseo Dog Park. Located 22 miles from Rush, this dog park includes two separate fenced sections: one for large dogs and one for small dogs. Both areas feature grassy fields for dogs to run through, and the large dog area also has agility equipment for your dog to play on. If your pup gets thirsty while they’re playing, the park has a water spigot you can use to fill your dog’s bowl. Your dog will love getting to play in this pawsitively amazing dog park!

This Rochester neighborhood is named after huge, dog-friendly Highland Park. Located 12 miles from Rush, Highland Park has tons of walking paths where you can take your dog for on-leash strolls. These paths take you past the park’s lovely manicured gardens and around the scenic Highland Reservoir. If all this walking makes you hungry, head to Bunga Burger Bar. This burger joint allows dogs at their outdoor tables, and your server will bring your dog a bowl of ice-cold water. If your dog was a good boy or girl at the park, treat them to their own plain hamburger patty!

Bull Saw Mill is a residential neighborhood with a park your dog is sure to love, Mendon Ponds Park. This 2,500-acre park is just five miles from Rush, and it allows dogs on-leash. If you want to take a long trek through a stunning meadow, check out the 1.8-mile North Meadow Trail. Or, if you’d rather hike around a scenic pond, hop on the 2.7-mile Quail Pond Loop Trail. You can also hike past unique glacial formations on the .67-mile Devil’s Bathtub Trail, or you can climb up hills and go through the forest on the 4.7-mile East Esker Trail. You and your dog will have a great time exploring all these unique trails!

Located 13.5 miles from Rush, Highland is home to the always-fun Genesee Valley Park. This park allows dogs on-leash, and it has two trails: the Red Creek Trail and the Genesee Valley Greenway. The Red Creek Trail takes you on a short and scenic loop around Red Creek, and the Genesee Valley Greenway follows the Genesee River. Bring water and doggy bags, and have fun in this park. If you want to cool down after your trek, head to Abbott’s Frozen Custard. This old-fashioned ice cream shop allows dogs at their outdoor tables, and they serve a wide variety of custard flavors, sundaes, and milkshakes.
