Head to the northern part of Highland Park to find Moraine Dog Beach, a great pet-friendly beach with spectacular views and welcoming warm water! The beach is not very big, but the area is enough for running off-leash and enjoying a great swim! This beach tends to get really crowded on weekends, so if you want to have more freedom, come by on weekdays and let your mutt have a blast! Make sure that you are registered at Heller Nature Center before visiting the park.

At the very southern border of Lake Forest and Bannockburn, you will find a place all the local pups rave about. Adjacent to Prairie Wolf Slough County Forest Preserve, the park houses two separate areas for exercise, and a convenient, fenced path to the water, which prevents your pooch from swimming if you object.
