After some time at the park, head over to Legends Bar and Grill located in the pooch-friendly Wyndham Suites. Not only can you enjoy a meal in the dog-friendly restaurant, but pets are welcome to stay at the hotel. Wyndham even provides pet beds, food bowls, and doggie treats for their furry guests.

Blue Star Memorial Woods

If Fido enjoys a good hike, plan a day at the Blue Star Memorial Woods Park where you can access the North Branch Trail. Although the trail used to be a dirt path for horseback riding, the path is now paved and perfect for a stroll with your pup and family. The trail follows along the North Branch Chicago River and offers amazing views and a chance for your pooch to sniff the trees and plants. You will need to bring your own clean up bags and water. After hiking the trail, sit and relax at one of the picnic areas before heading home. Or, if you need a place to spend the night, Extended Stay America welcomes two dogs of any size for an additional fee.

Gallery Park

Gallery Park, also known as Little Bear Garden Park, provides 140-acres of walking trails, green spaces, and ball fields. You and your pup can walk along the paths while Fido has a snifftastic time in the long grass and plants. As you are walking, you will pass by a small lake where you can fish with your pup or relax and enjoy the sun. The playground is perfect for the kids or playing a game of catch on the ball field. Before heading to the park, plan to eat breakfast at the Egg Harbor Café for an omelet with your pooch at the outdoor tables.

Sleepy Hollow

Paved pathways, shaded picnic areas, and fun playground equipment make Sleepy Hollow Park a perfect destination for the entire family.
